PedalSmith is a focused brake-pedal training tool for Gran Turismo 7 on PS5. We're a small team and we read every email.

Please include your iOS device model, iOS version, and a brief description of what's happening. Screenshots help.
PedalSmith reads brake-pedal telemetry directly from your PS5 over the local network — no setup, no pairing.
The app speaks a target pressure ("seventy"). Press your brake pedal to that value and hold steady. The score is the value at which your pedal plateaus. Release fully, and the next rep starts automatically. Aim to nail the target on the first squeeze, not by feathering toward it.
A randomly-varying smooth target curve scrolls across the screen from right to left. Match the line at the cursor with your brake pedal in real time. The live score is a 5-second sliding average — it reacts quickly, so a few seconds of focus rebuilds it after a slip. The curve never repeats; each session generates a new one.
Practice trail-brake release shapes. The app speaks "fast trail," "medium trail," or "long trail," and you press to 100% then release on the matching curve. Your actual release overlays the dotted target curve in real time, so you can see exactly where you deviate. Use the duration steppers below the score to tune what each curve length should feel like in seconds — defaults are 0.6, 1.3, and 2.3 seconds.
Most often this is the PS5 entering rest mode after a period of inactivity in GT7's menus, or your iPhone switching Wi-Fi networks. The app will reconnect automatically once GT7 starts emitting telemetry again.
For the best experience, mix PedalSmith's audio into your headphones alongside your game audio — either by routing iPhone audio to the same Bluetooth headset as the game, or with an inexpensive analog headphone mixer. PedalSmith uses iOS spoken audio, so it will duck other audio briefly when speaking.
The score reflects how closely your release tracks the dotted target curve in real time. If the orange line overlays the dotted line, you're scoring near 100. If you're consistently low, try the duration steppers — they let you tune each profile's expected release time to match your reflexes. There's no "right" speed; there's only the speed you're practicing.
The curve starts when the pedal first drops 5% below your peak. Hold-time at 100% does not count against your score — the trace only collects samples once the release actually begins.
PedalSmith is in active development and we want to hear what would help your driving. Email us with thoughts. If you're reporting a behavior, please include the drill mode, the target the app spoke, and (if relevant) the car and track you were running.
